Pests of the Pacific Northwest

The following photos depict rodents and insect pests that are common to the Pacific Northwest. It's important to remember that most insects are beneficial in maintaining a balance of nature and keeping plants healthy. They only become a pest when they cause economic or environment damage on a regular basis.

They do not eat wood, but they remove quantities of it to expand their nesting facilities. This can result in damage to buildings and, if the main structural beams are hollowed out, can result in an unsafe condition.

Flea bites, at the very least, can be an annoyance resulting in an infuriating itch but can also cause serious skin problems on dogs and cats, such as allergy dermatitis.

Rats & Mice

Rats and mice can be a problem in urban, suburban and rural areas. They infest old buildings and crowded, unsanitary areas that exist in an urban environment. However, they can also be a problem even where newer homes and sanitary conditions exist.

In the Pacific Northwest, yellowjackets and paper wasps have annual colonies. The only colony members to overwinter are inseminated queens, which spend the winter in protected locations, such as under bark, in stumps and logs, and within stacks of firewood.

"Adept Pest Solutions made my first exterminating experience simple and convenient. They provided great service at reasonable prices. They constantly communicated (to me) the status of their work over email and also with digital pictures of the problem areas.

They also took time to educate me as to what the problems were and why they happened. I would recommend Adept Pest Solutions to anyone who is having pest problems!

Thanks again for your service. As you can see, I am a happy customer!"
